I was born and raised in Omaha and love this small city. There’s a great sense of support, belongingness, and community here, and I think that’s what makes it one of the hidden treasures of the Midwest. Omaha is a thriving city with new locally-owned businesses popping up everywhere. It’s vastly growing yet staying close-knit at the same time, which makes it such a special place to live. I also love that Omaha supports all of these locally-owned shops, restaurants and businesses. Without them, we wouldn’t have those unique places that make Omaha so extraordinary.
One of my favorite boutiques in Omaha is The Fold. They house sophisticated designer clothing and accessories that are meant to be worn now and for years to come. They don’t just have clothing either, they have a beautiful selection of shoes, jewelry, makeup, and scents. When you walk though their blush pink door you can’t help but notice all of their beautifully arranged clothing and the shop itself is decorated in a modern and thoughtful way. You can tell that they pay such a close attention to detail from picking their designer pieces to picking out the cutest gold floral wallpaper in their dressing rooms. And their staff is knowledgeable and friendly, making you feel right at home! On my most recent shopping trip there, I fell in love with a cream ruffled sleeve sweater they have right now by Derek Lam and their graphic sweaters by Lingua Franca are so fun and chic!
Thanks to First National Bank, I’m able to shop at my favorite local businesses like The Fold and feel good doing so. Shopping local is not only helping small and family-owned business, but it’s helping to keep money in my community. Thus, shopping and supporting locally-owned businesses is what the We Grow As One mission is all about. I’d call that a win-win!
Omaha is an amazing place to live and I appreciate First National Bank for allowing me to highlight the importance of supporting our local businesses here. The bank believes that growth in the community starts with growth in the local economy and I whole-heartedly agree!
For my Omaha readers: what are some of your favorite local stores to frequent during the holidays?
In collaboration with First National Bank.
